A quaint scene in Europe? No..... it is is Argyle Street in Halifax! Five streets up from the harbour. We have a lovely wee downtown squeezed between the water and Citadel Hill, our fortress, now a national museum. These pics were taken on one of our recent foggy days. The picture below is looking down Prince Street towards the Harbour. The Press Gang is a small restaurant with an outdoor patio. Years ago Press gangs used to roam the streets of 18th century Halifax, scooping up unfortunate drunks and pressing them into service for the Navy warships, like it or not. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 55 was fair game.

Today, the city is buzzing with Paul McCartney preparations. The outdoor stage is set and the sound check scheduled to happen this afternoon. The Nova Scotia Highland Games are also scheduled for this weekend, the Jazz festival starts and the Lebanese Weekend is on! Next week the Tall Ships arrive. Always something happening in this wee city. Tonight I hope to go get some Za'atar on fresh roasted pita! Yum! I'm so thrilled the sun is shining for everyone:)

This morning, while waiting for the 8:51 local train at Ghatkopar station, a very hot-looking and well-dressed girl (hereafter referred to as HG) struck an interesting conversation with me.

HG: Will it be late? (Note how there's no 'hello' or 'excuse me' thrown in)
Me: What?
HG: 8:51
Me: No; it usually arrives anytime between 8:51 and 8:54
HG: OK
Me: OK



HG: I have to go Mulund* by 9:10
Me: 8:51 is a fast train; it won't halt at Mulund
HG: I know.
Me: OK



HG: I am not job working. I am business working.
Me: OK
HG: Own business.
Me: Great!
HG: I work all days for 3PM. Sometimes only I travel.
Me: Yes, I guess, business requires traveling.
HG: Yes, yes. I come from Dombivali** slow train. Now I catch Thane fast; go Mulund by auto rickshaw.
Me: OK
HG: Will it be late?
Me: No, there's still time.
HG: OK



HG: I have 9:10 meeting. I am awaken from 3 from night.
Me: What?
HG: Fast also.
Me: What?
HG: Salt less fast. Religious.
Me: Train's arriving.
HG: Nice talk.
Me: What?
HG: Nice talk to you.
Me: Same here.

We boarded the same train, but I was so scared of listening to her tales that I stuck to the door.

*Mulund: An Eastern suburb; five stations away from where I stay.
**Dombivali: Some godforsaken suburb; many many many away stations from where I stay. It's in New Bombay, I think.

So, nauseous at home yesterday and the inability to wander around, I was forced to keep myself entertained ( though I dearly wanted to make my way to my friend's house to play Left 4 Dead *A* ) ... I figured this might keep a couple of people amused too. ♥

So I've taken a break from Beyond Good and Evil to rant a little bit. As much as I love this game and all, do you ever get out of this stupid factory!? Jesus to god I've spent so long in here. It's making me sooo mad! >:o Poor Pey'j he got kidnapped! Is it true that you don't get him back for a really long time? Like most of the game?
I kind of need help too. I'm at the part right after you go up the blue portal thing, I'm not sure how to describe what it is but I just got up there and now there's two guards. I'm not sure how to get past them. I know if you hit one in the air tank, he gets hurt and the other runs over, but I don't know how to get past them when I do that! Thanks!

A while back, someone made a post about sites like Backloggery.com, but I've looked and can't find the entry. What other sites are good for listing your game collection. I joined one of the others sites someone mentioned but I can't remember the URL for it!

EDIT: Also, the one I'm thinking of let you say if you had the manual and case and stuff, if that helps.

After storming my way through Resident Evil 5, I've got five games in front of me that're ripe for achievement boosting....

Fallout 3 w/The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage (680/1000) (haven't installed the expansions yet)
The Orange Box (95/1000) (This one will most likely take a while...)

Which one should I do first...?

Alternatively, I could just start up Mercenaries mode on Resident Evil 5, maybe completing S Ranks on Veteran and Professional. (Yes, the game really is that addictive.)

YUM! First crop. You have no idea how excited I was to go outside this morning and fill this wee bowl! Our very first strawberries. It is just a small patch but next year, look out! I also plan on putting some straw around them to foil the slugs. These were some delicious ones that got away:)

Okay, so after years of watching my friends play FFXI, I'm finally really into it and I was wondering if there were any linkshells on Gilgamesh that people have devoted purely to RP-ing their characters as characters rather than their little "let's run around and kill things" avatars? Anybody regret not having kept it since it's on eBay for more than you originally bought it for?

My boyfriend told me that one sold for like $250. And one was up for quite a bit more.

I sure do miss that game, though. I miss saving Annie and dancing with criminals and using magic to fight them with. Oh, and grabbing your crotch of course.

Please recommend an MP3 to Text Converter (software). Preferably a freeware/shareware. Whole lot of audio to be transcribed :-(
